    How do I register?
There are four easy ways to register:

1) Online - (Available only prior to class start date)
Select Register. Look up your class and then add it to your shopping cart. Have a Visa, American Express or MasterCard and please be patient when you are first registering as account approvals can only be done during business hours. Caution, if you limit your search to narrowly, you may not see the class you are looking for. If you don't see it, try broadening your categories.


Please NOTE: New accounts approved only Mon–Thu 7:30am - 5:30pm and Friday 8am–5pm. Remember to bring your receipt to the first class.

2) Walk-in – Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-5:30pm, Friday, 8am-5pm

3) Mail-in - Mail your completed registration form and payment to:

You will receive a receipt in the mail within a few days.


Can I register the first class meeting? No, all registration forms and payment must be received at City Hall prior to the first class meeting. If you are not pre-registered it is up to the instructor whether you can be admitted to the class.

What if I am not a Newport Beach Resident? Non-residents are welcome to sign up for any and all classes, however there is a $5 non-resident fee for each class that is priced at $74 or less and $10 for each class that is $75 and over.


Is there a discount? Register before May 17, 2008 and receive a 10% discount (excludes Summer Day Camp)

What happens if the camp is full? If camp the camp is full, you can enroll into the waitlist free of charge. Should an opening become available, staff will contact you.


What is the refund policy?
In order to receive a refund, you must notify the City of Newport Beach Recreation division. Refunds made prior to the first class meeting will receive a full refund with a deduction of $10 to cover the cost of registration and refund. Refunds made before the second class meeting will be prorated for the cost of the day. There will be no refunds made after the second class meeting.

Please note: Those paying by credit card will have their account credited and those who paid by check must provide a copy of the canceled check (front and back) before the refund can be processed. Cash paying customers will receive a check in the mail within 2-4 weeks. If you are planning on taking a class in the near future, we can credit the full amount to your account on our system and you can apply it for future classes.



How do I find out if my friend’s child is registered for camp? Unfortunately, the City cannot provide participant information to anyone outside the registration form, family, or guardian. You must communicate this with your friend.

What is the camp dismissal policy? It is required that all instructors remain at camp until all participants have been picked up. Minor participants will only be released to a parent or legal guardian.

Do you prorate camps?
If you miss a day of camp, you must pay for the class in full as the City does not prorate programs.

Can I enroll my youngest child into camp if he/she is too young/old?
Please contact the camp instructor to discuss your request. Requests will be assessed on a case to case basis.
